A frontier proposal with a validation plan, not an implemented detector.
Intended capability
Evaluate the sensing evidence for “Invisible Incontinence & Mattress Moisture Sensing” in a consented study using staged events and independent reference observations. This is not a care decision, fall prediction, emergency response, or proof of resident safety.
This describes the intended outcome. Readiness is research concept, evidence is class C, and a catalog mapping or recording is not proof of this outcome at a real site.
Solution blueprint
See the environment before installing it.
This exact kit is one of 191 first-class designs. It includes geometry, objects, nodes, wording, scenarios, installation, limitations, and catalog-bound readiness.
No rendered revision is available yet.
Bundled recording
A related Elderly scene
This is one recorded vertical scenario. It is not separate validation of every capability in the catalog.
01 The physics
Water has eps_r≈80 vs. ~1.5-3 for foam/textile, so even a few hundred mL of fluid in a mattress dramatically increases local permittivity and conductivity: paths grazing the bed acquire measurable excess delay (higher eps_r slows propagation) and amplitude attenuation (sigma rises). This is a static material change, not motion — invisible to Doppler but directly visible to CIR geometry and field reconstruction.
02 Shared processing path
CIR sparse recovery isolates multipath components reflecting off/through the bed volume -> RFF/NeRF field reconstruction of eps_r/sigma voxels in the bed region -> differential imaging vs. dry baseline (captured while resident absent) -> CUSUM to separate transient events from chronic dampness/hygiene failure.
This is a capability design path. Components may be shared with other catalog entries; it is not presented as a unique algorithm.
03 Validation plan
Own-hardware controlled experiment: staged saline injections (100/300/600 mL) into an instrumented mattress in a 6-node ESP32 room, ROC vs. volume; no public dataset covers this — this is a flagship frontier demo.
04 Commercial hypothesis
For long-term-care administrators fighting pressure-injury citations: 'Know about the wet bed in minutes, not at the 4-hour round' — dignity-preserving incontinence alerts with zero disposables cost.
