A frontier proposal with a validation plan, not an implemented detector.
Intended capability
Research whether the field could support this proposed outcome: Non-invasive read of colony strength and imminent swarming by sensing the winter-cluster size and its contraction/expansion and pre-swarm agitation — without ever opening the hive and chilling the brood.
This describes the intended outcome. Readiness is research concept, evidence is class C, and a catalog mapping or recording is not proof of this outcome at a real site.

Bundled recording
A related Agriculture scene
This is one recorded vertical scenario. It is not separate validation of every capability in the catalog.
01 The physics
The bee cluster is a dense, moving dielectric mass whose size and position shift the near-field scattering geometry; pre-swarm agitation and 'buzzing runs' add broadband low-frequency body-motion micro-Doppler within the 0.1-40Hz band even though individual wingbeats (~200Hz) alias out. Cluster shrinkage over winter is a direct occupancy-volume change.
02 Shared processing path
CIR/RTI reconstruction of cluster size & centroid inside the hive box -> Doppler agitation-energy feature -> compartment Kalman + CUSUM tracking cluster mass over weeks (dwindle/collapse) -> anomaly manifold spike for pre-swarm agitation
This is a capability design path. Components may be shared with other catalog entries; it is not presented as a unique algorithm.
03 Validation plan
Own-hardware: ESP32 pair on hive walls vs hive-scale weight logger, in-hive thermistors and inspection records across a season; no public bee dataset exists, so this is a bespoke frontier build validated against hive-scale weight and swarm-event logs.
04 Commercial hypothesis
'HiveSense' — winter-loss and swarm-prediction monitor for commercial apiaries; protects pollination contracts without brood-chilling inspections.
