Mapped to a shared offline runtime family and usable with a recording or compatible ESP32 CSI stream.
Intended capability
Pilot this intended outcome through the shared Machine vibration family, then validate it against site-specific ground truth: Predictive maintenance for AHU fans, pumps and compressors in mechanical rooms: bearing wear, belt slap, and mounting looseness show up as drifting vibration signatures weeks before failure.
This describes the intended outcome. Readiness is shared-family mapped, evidence is class B, and a catalog mapping or recording is not proof of this outcome at a real site.
Solution blueprint
See the environment before installing it.
This exact kit is one of 191 first-class designs. It includes geometry, objects, nodes, wording, scenarios, installation, limitations, and catalog-bound readiness.

A related Buildings scene
This is one recorded vertical scenario. It is not separate validation of every capability in the catalog.
01 The physics
Rotating machinery imposes stable, narrowband micro-Doppler tones (shaft rate + harmonics + blade-pass frequency) on reflected paths; bearing degradation adds sidebands and broadband energy, belt problems add sub-harmonics. Signature drift is mechanical degradation, not environment.
02 Shared processing path
Micro-Doppler feature extraction (machine-vs-human already proven) -> adaptive PCA per-machine signature manifold with rolling baseline -> compartment Kalman + CUSUM on harmonic amplitudes/sideband energy over weeks (119-day drift control proves the long-baseline stability needed).
This is a capability design path. Components may be shared with other catalog entries; it is not presented as a unique algorithm.
03 Validation plan
CSI-Bench machine-activity subsets for signature separability; own-hardware: ESP32 pair aimed at an AHU, induce imbalance with a clip-on mass and belt-tension changes, verify CUSUM detection lead time vs accelerometer ground truth.
04 Commercial hypothesis
For the O&M contractor: 'Vibration-analyst coverage of every fan and pump in the building for the cost of one accelerometer — failures announce themselves three weeks early over WiFi.'
