PermitCount

Confined-Space & Restricted-Zone Occupancy Ledger

Pilot confined-space occupancy ledger; never the authority for entry, rescue, or permit compliance.

Readiness Shared-family mapped

Mapped to a shared offline runtime family and usable with a recording or compatible ESP32 CSI stream.

Evidence Strong theory Supported hypothesis

Published physics or adjacent results support the hypothesis; capability-specific product and site validation are still required.

Runtime family Occupancy estimate

Coarse occupancy estimate from calibrated multi-link field activity.

When no ESP32 is connected

No compatible ESP32 stream is connected. Use the bundled Industrial recording; it demonstrates the shared Occupancy estimate runtime, not independent proof of this capability.

Intended capability

Pilot this intended outcome through the shared Occupancy estimate family, then validate it against site-specific ground truth: Automatic headcount verification for confined-space entries and live electrical rooms: system knows how many bodies are inside a permit boundary at all times, through the wall, and reconciles against the permit. A worker who goes still never decrements 'souls inside' — an mmWave radar aimed through the entry hatch holds their presence until an exit is actually seen.

This describes the intended outcome. Readiness is shared-family mapped, evidence is class B, and a catalog mapping or recording is not proof of this outcome at a real site.

A related Industrial scene

This is one recorded vertical scenario. It is not separate validation of every capability in the catalog.

01 The physics

Each human body inside the space perturbs multipath with breathing (0.1-0.5Hz) and motion Doppler; occupancy count correlates with aggregate perturbation energy and mode count. Through-wall sensing (LOS/NLOS discrimination proven) lets nodes sit outside the hazardous boundary.

02 Shared processing path

Through-wall CSI: Doppler + breathing features (stage 2) -> occupancy count regression (proven r=0.9) -> RTI localization to confirm bodies are inside vs outside the boundary (stage 4) -> hatch-aimed radar static hold carries stationary presence, so the count can only fall on a matching exit event -> CUSUM on count-vs-permit mismatch duration (stage 6) to trigger alarms only on sustained discrepancy.

This is a capability design path. Components may be shared with other catalog entries; it is not presented as a unique algorithm.

03 Validation plan

WiMANS multi-person counting and OPERAnet occupancy for the count model; ESP32-wall for the through-boundary configuration; own-hardware drill in a real vessel/electrical room during a planned entry.

04 Commercial hypothesis

A live 'souls inside' counter for every confined-space permit — sold to the permit-to-work coordinator as automated attendant backup.
